## TL;DR

This paper investigates the properties of imbalanced antiferromagnets in optical lattices, including phase diagrams, spin waves, and topological excitations like merons, highlighting a potential Kosterlitz-Thouless transition.

## Contribution

It provides a comprehensive analysis of the phase diagram and topological excitations in imbalanced antiferromagnets within optical lattices, a topic not extensively explored before.

## Key findings

- Identification of a phase diagram for the system
- Discussion of spin wave behavior in the lattice
- Proposal of a Kosterlitz-Thouless transition involving merons

## Abstract

We study the rich properties of the imbalanced antiferromagnet in an optical lattice. We present its phase diagram, discuss spin waves and explore the emergence of topological excitations in two dimensions, known as merons, which are responsible for a Kosterlitz-Thouless transition that has never unambiguously been observed.
