Confinement & Chiral Symmetry Breaking: The fundamental problems of hadron physics
Reinhard Alkofer

TL;DR
This paper reviews the fundamental challenges in understanding confinement and chiral symmetry breaking in hadron physics, discussing criteria for successful theories and listing potential explanations.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of the difficulties and criteria related to confinement and chiral symmetry breaking, highlighting key issues and proposed explanations.
Findings
Identifies core difficulties in explaining confinement and chiral symmetry breaking.
Proposes criteria for a successful theoretical framework.
Lists potential explanations for these phenomena.
Abstract
Some of the difficulties arising when one tries to understand confinement as well as dynamical and anomalous chiral symmetry breaking are reviewed. Criteria to be fulfilled by a successful and complete picture of these phenomena are presented, and a few of the suggested explanations are listed.
