TL;DR
This paper updates the determinations of charm and bottom quark masses using recent four-loop calculations and new experimental data, confirming previous results with improved precision.
Contribution
It provides updated charm and bottom quark mass values based on advanced theoretical calculations and recent experimental data, enhancing the accuracy of sum rule methods.
Findings
Charm quark mass: 0.986(13) GeV at 3 GeV
Bottom quark mass: 3.610(16) GeV at 10 GeV
Results are consistent with previous determinations.
Abstract
Using new four-loop results for the heavy quark vacuum polarization and new data for bottom quark production in electron-positron annihilation, an update on the determination of charm- and bottom-quark masses through sum rules has been performed. The previous result for the charm-quark mass, , based on the lowest moment, is supported by the new results from higher moments which lead to consistent values with comparable errors. The new value for the bottom quark, , corresponding to , makes use both of the new data and the new perturbative results and is consistent with the earlier determination.
