TL;DR
This paper employs a numerical functional RG approach to analyze symmetry breaking in the scalar 4 model, revealing a degeneracy in the action and potential singularities in the effective potential.
Contribution
It introduces a numerical algorithm to solve the functional RG equations, uncovering an approximate Maxwell-cut and degeneracy phenomena in the scalar 4 model.
Findings
Identification of an approximate Maxwell-cut in the potential
Degeneracy of the action at certain scales
Potential development of singular field dependence
Abstract
A numerical algorithm is used to solve the bare and the effective potential for the scalar model in the local potential approximation. An approximate dynamical Maxwell-cut is found which reveals itself in the degeneracy of the action for modes at some scale. This result indicates that the potential develop singular field dependence as far as one can see it by an lgorithm of limited numerical accuracy
