Polarization from the oscillating magnetized accretion torus
Jiri Horak, Michal Bursa

TL;DR
This paper investigates how oscillations in a magnetized accretion torus affect observable light curves, including intensity and polarization, through detailed eigenmode analysis and ray-tracing simulations.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive analysis of oscillation modes in magnetized accretion tori and their impact on polarization signals, advancing understanding of accretion physics.
Findings
Eigenfrequencies and eigenfunctions for lowest-order modes calculated.
Predicted polarization light curves show characteristic signatures of torus oscillations.
Ray-tracing methods effectively model observable polarization variations.
Abstract
We study oscillations of accretion torus with azimuthal magnetic field. For several lowest-order modes we calculate eigenfrequencies and eigenfunctions and calculate corresponding intensity and polarization light curves using advanced ray-tracing methods.
