Devang A. Joshi, P. Manfrinetti, S. K. Dhar, A. Thamizhavel

TL;DR
This study reports on the growth and anisotropic magnetic properties of single crystals of CeAu$_{2}$In$_{4}$, revealing its magnetic behavior and easy axis orientation through experimental and CEF analysis.
Contribution
The paper presents the first growth of CeAu$_{2}$In$_{4}$ single crystals and analyzes its anisotropic magnetic behavior using the crystalline electric field model.
Findings
CeAu$_{2}$In$_{4}$ does not order magnetically down to 1.8 K.
The easy axis of magnetization is along [010] direction.
LaAu$_{2}$In$_{4}$ exhibits Pauli-paramagnetic behavior.
Abstract
We have grown the single crystals of LaAuIn and CeAuIn by high temperature solution method and report on the anisotropic magnetic behavior of CeAuIn . The compounds crystallize in an orthorhombic structure with space group \textit {Pnma}. LaAuIn shows a Pauli-paramagnetic behavior. CeAuIn do not order down to 1.8 K. The easy axis of magnetization for CeAuIn is along [010] direction. The magnetization data is analyzed on the basis of crystalline electric field (CEF) model.
