Unitarity of the tree approximation to the Glauber AA amplitude for large A
M. A. Braun, A. V. Krylov

TL;DR
This paper investigates the unitarity of the tree approximation to the Glauber AA amplitude for heavy nuclei and finds it is not unitary for realistic nucleon-nucleon cross-sections, challenging previous results.
Contribution
It demonstrates that the tree approximation to the Glauber amplitude is not unitary for realistic parameters, providing a correction to prior assumptions.
Findings
Tree approximation is not unitary for realistic cross-sections.
Contradicts previous published results on unitarity.
Implications for modeling heavy nucleus collisions.
Abstract
The nucleus-nucleus Glauber amplitude in the tree approximation is studied for heavy participant nuclei. It is shown that, contrary to previous published results, it is not unitary for realistic values of nucleon-nucleon cross-sections.
