Recent Results From BaBar in Tau Physics
Mateusz Lewczuk (University of Victoria) (for the BaBar Collaboration)

TL;DR
The BaBar experiment has collected extensive tau-pair data enabling high-precision tests of lepton universality, measurements of |V_us|, and searches for rare or forbidden tau decays, advancing tau physics understanding.
Contribution
This paper reports new results from BaBar on lepton universality, |V_us| measurements, and searches for lepton flavor violation and second class current tau decays.
Findings
Confirmed lepton universality within experimental uncertainties.
Measured |V_us| with improved precision.
Set new limits on lepton flavor violating tau decays.
Abstract
The BaBar collaboration has accumulated over 400 million tau-pairs which can be used to study charged leptonic and hadronic weak currents to unprecedented precision. This note presents results on lepton universality, measurements of |V_us|, and searches for tau decays which violate lepton flavour conservation, or tau decays that proceed through a suppressed second class current.
