TL;DR
This paper investigates flavor-changing neutral currents in pseudoscalar meson production and decay within a type III two-Higgs-doublet-model, highlighting constraints on quark and lepton flavor-violating Yukawa couplings from experimental data.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive analysis of flavor-violating processes in a general 2HDM-III, emphasizing the role of tree-level Higgs-mediated FCNCs and deriving constraints on Yukawa couplings.
Findings
Quark sector flavor-violating parameters are strongly constrained by data.
Leptonic sector flavor-violating parameters are less constrained.
Complementary information on Yukawa couplings is obtained from different decay channels.
Abstract
We study flavor violating processes in the production or decay of a neutral pseudoscalar meson in the framework of a general two Higgs Doublet Model type III (2HDM-III). We use a version of the model where Yukawa interactions of neutral Higgs bosons allow for flavor change at the tree-level, but conserves CP symmetry. We focus on all possible and decay channels, where are charged leptons. We find that these processes provide complementary information on quark and lepton FCNC Yukawa couplings. In particular flavor violating parameters in the quark sector, and , are significantly constrained by present experimental data, whereas the corresponding parameters in the leptonic sector are less constrained.
