On mass hierarchies in orientifold vacua
Pascal Anastasopoulos (Tor Vergata & CERN), Elias Kiritsis (Crete U.),, Andrea Lionetto (Tor Vergata)

TL;DR
This paper investigates how mass hierarchies and mixing patterns in the Standard Model can be realized within orientifold string theory models, proposing specific brane configurations that produce these hierarchies.
Contribution
It introduces bottom-up brane configurations in orientifold models that can generate realistic mass hierarchies and mixing patterns.
Findings
Identified brane setups capable of reproducing observed mass hierarchies.
Demonstrated the feasibility of embedding Standard Model features in orientifold vacua.
Abstract
We analyze the problem of the hierarchy of masses and mixings in orientifold realizations of the Standard Model. We find bottom-up brane configurations that can generate such hierarchies.
