Ph.D. Thesis: Quantum Field Theory and Gravity in Causal Sets
Roman Sverdlov

TL;DR
This thesis explores extending matter fields and their Lagrangians from traditional spacetime to causal sets, aiming to deepen understanding of quantum field theory and gravity in discrete spacetime models.
Contribution
It introduces a framework for generalizing matter fields and Lagrangians to causal sets, bridging quantum field theory with discrete spacetime structures.
Findings
Proposed a method for defining matter fields on causal sets
Extended Lagrangian formulations to discrete spacetime
Laid groundwork for quantum gravity models in causal set theory
Abstract
This is is a copy of dissertation that I have submitted in defense of my ph.d. thesis, with some minor changes that I have made since then. The goal of the project is to generalize matter fields and their Lagrangians from regular space time to causal sets.
