Mirjam Cveti\v{c}, I\~naki Garc\'ia-Etxebarria, Robert Richter

TL;DR
This paper investigates intersecting D6 branes and Euclidean D2-brane instantons at angles in type IIA string theory, showing they do not contribute to the superpotential without orientifolds, and discusses dual string theory implications.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of intersecting brane-instanton systems and clarifies their non-contribution to the superpotential in the absence of orientifolds.
Findings
System does not contribute to superpotential without orientifolds
Analysis aligns with effective field theory expectations
Comments on dual string theory implications
Abstract
We study in detail the system of D6 branes and euclidean D2-brane instantons intersecting at angles in type IIA string theory. We find that in the absence of orientifolds the system does not contribute to the low energy superpotential, in agreement with expectations based on effective field theory arguments. We also comment on the implications of our results for dual string theory pictures.
