The V_c-sigma_0 relation in Low Surface Brightness galaxies: including the light concentration
A. Caon, A. Pizzella, F. Bertola (Department of Astronomy, University, of Padova, Italy)

TL;DR
This study investigates the V_c-_0 relation in Low Surface Brightness galaxies, examining how light concentration affects this correlation and finding that C_28 does not explain the observed differences.
Contribution
It introduces measurements of the C_28 concentration parameter for LSB galaxies and assesses its role in the V_c-_0 relation, revealing it does not account for the relation's behavior.
Findings
C_28 does not explain the V_c-_0 relation differences in LSB galaxies.
LSB galaxies follow a distinct V_c-_0 relation compared to other galaxy types.
Light concentration variations are not the primary cause of scatter in the relation.
Abstract
It has been found that there is a strong correlation between the circular velocity V_c and the central stellar velocity dispersion \sigma_0 of galaxies. In this respect, low surface brightness galaxies (LSB) follow a different relation when compared to Elliptical and high surface brightness (HSB) galaxies. The intrinsic scatter of the V_c-\sigma_0 is partially due to the different concentration of the light distribution. In this work we measure the C_28 concentration parameter for a sample of 17 LSB finding that the C_28 parameter does not account for the different behavior in the for this class of objects.
