TL;DR
This paper proposes a method to achieve and utilize electron-electron entanglement in Penning traps, advancing quantum information processing with trapped electrons.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to entangle two electrons using a model system based on single-electron trapping techniques.
Findings
Potential for two-qubit gate implementation
Enhanced quantum metrology protocols
Feasibility of electron-electron entanglement in traps
Abstract
Entanglement of isolated elementary particles other than photons has not yet been achieved. We show how building blocks demonstrated with one trapped electron might be used to make a model system and method for entangling two electrons. Applications are then considered, including two-qubit gates and more precise quantum metrology protocols.
