Stephen McDowall, Plamen Stefanov, Alexandru Tamasan

TL;DR
This paper proves that in stationary transport, the gauge equivalence classes of scattering and attenuation coefficients in anisotropic media can be determined in a stable manner from the albedo operator, ensuring reliable reconstructions.
Contribution
It establishes the stability of gauge equivalence class determination in stationary transport for anisotropic media, extending previous uniqueness results.
Findings
Gauge classes are stably determined by the albedo operator.
Stability results ensure reliable inverse reconstructions.
Advances understanding of anisotropic transport models.
Abstract
For anisotropic attenuating media, the albedo operator determines the scattering and the attenuation coefficients up to a gauge transformation. We show that such a determination is stable.
