Canonical interpretation of the $\eta_2(1870)$
De-Min Li, En Wang

TL;DR
This paper examines the properties of the $ ext{eta}_2(1870)$ meson, suggesting it aligns with a conventional quark-antiquark state and discussing potential mixing with hybrid states.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis supporting the interpretation of $ ext{eta}_2(1870)$ as a $2 ^1D_2$ $qar{q}$ state and explores hybrid mixing possibilities.
Findings
Mass and decay patterns consistent with $2 ^1D_2$ $qar{q}$ state
No contradiction with conventional meson interpretation
Discusses potential hybrid mixing scenarios
Abstract
We argue that the mass, production, total decay width, and decay pattern of the do not appear to contradict with the picture of it being the conventional state. The possibility of the being a mixture of the conventional and the hybrid is also discussed.
