Contribution
It provides an analysis of MPI checkerboard code performance on various hardware, highlighting scalability and efficiency in lattice gauge theory simulations.
Findings
Performance varies with number of MPI processes
Scalability observed on PC cluster and Cray supercomputer
Insights into parallel computing efficiency for lattice gauge theory
Abstract
We study the performance of MPI checkerboard code for SU(3) lattice gauge theory as function of the number of MPI processes, which run in parallel on an identical number of CPU cores. Computing platforms explored are a small PC cluster at FSU and the Cray at NERSC.
