E. Czerwinski (for the COSY-11 Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper presents a method to directly measure the total width of the eta prime meson using the COSY-11 setup, achieving a statistical error of about 10 keV, which advances precision in meson property measurements.
Contribution
It introduces a novel experimental approach for directly determining the eta prime meson's total width from its mass distribution, with high statistical accuracy.
Findings
Preliminary total width measurement with ~10 keV statistical error.
Successful application of the COSY-11 apparatus for meson property analysis.
Method sets a new standard for precision in meson width determination.
Abstract
We describe the experimental method and consecutive steps of the analysis of the pp-->pp eta prime reaction measured by means of the COSY-11 detection setup. The conducted investigation aim at the determination of the total width of the eta prime meson directly from its mass distribution. The preliminary results show that the statistical error is in the order of ~10 keV.
