Medium-induced broadening and softening of a parton shower
Nicolas Borghini

TL;DR
This paper investigates how a medium affects the angular and momentum distributions of quarks and gluons in a parton shower, using an analytical approach based on the modified leading logarithmic approximation of QCD.
Contribution
It introduces an analytical framework to describe medium-induced broadening and softening effects on parton showers, extending the MLLA to include medium interactions.
Findings
Medium causes broadening of angular distributions.
Medium induces softening of transverse momentum spectra.
Analytical description aligns with known QCD limits.
Abstract
The modifications of the angular and transverse momentum distributions of quarks and gluons inside a parton shower due to the presence of a medium are studied within an analytical description that reduces to the modified leading logarithmic approximation (MLLA) of QCD in the absence of medium.
