Covariance of the algebra of constraints of 4-D general relativity
Eyo Ita

TL;DR
This paper introduces new variables in the canonical formulation of 4-D general relativity that better preserve spacetime covariance and proposes an action to realize these symmetries at the canonical level.
Contribution
It presents a novel set of variables and an action framework that maintain manifest spacetime covariance in the canonical treatment of general relativity.
Findings
New variables carry a reducible representation of gauge transformations
Proposal for an action that realizes spacetime diffeomorphisms at the canonical level
Addresses covariance issues in standard canonical GR
Abstract
We argue that the standard canonical treatment of GR breaks manifest spacetime covariance. We present new variables which carry a reducible representation of gauge transformations and spacetime diffeomorphisms. A proposal is presented for an action designed to realize these symmetries at the canonical level.
