Shin Nan Yang, Keitaro Nagata, Hai Qing Zhou, Chung Wen Kao

TL;DR
This paper calculates two-boson-exchange corrections to parity-violating electron-proton scattering, including nucleon and Delta intermediate states, revealing significant contributions that affect the interpretation of strange-quark effects.
Contribution
It introduces a hadronic model accounting for Delta states in TBE corrections, providing more accurate estimates for parity-violating asymmetries.
Findings
Delta contribution is comparable to nucleon contribution.
Total TBE corrections range from -7% to +7%.
Impacts the extraction of strange-quark form factors.
Abstract
We calculate the two-boson-exchange (TBE) corrections to the parity-violating asymmetry of the elastic electron-proton scattering in a simple hadronic model including the nucleon and the intermediate states. We find that contribution is, in general, comparable with the nucleon contribution and the current experimental measurements of strange-quark effects in the proton neutral weak current. The total TBE corrections to the current extracted values of in recent experiments are found to lie in the range of .
