Search for resonant diphoton production with the D0 detector
The D0 Collaboration: V. M. Abazov, et al

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for narrow resonances in diphoton final states using D0 detector data, setting upper limits on production cross sections for masses between 100 and 150 GeV, and interpreting results in electroweak symmetry breaking models.
Contribution
First limits on diphoton resonance production cross sections in the 100-150 GeV range using D0 data, with implications for Higgs boson decay models.
Findings
No significant excess observed over background.
Set 95% C.L. upper limits on cross section times branching ratio.
Results constrain models of electroweak symmetry breaking.
Abstract
We present a search for a narrow resonance in the inclusive diphoton final state using 2.7 fb-1 of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron ppbar Collider. We observe good agreement between the data and the background prediction, and set the first 95% C.L. upper limits on the production cross section times the branching ratio for decay into a pair of photons for resonance masses between 100 and 150 GeV. This search is also interpreted in the context of several models of electroweak symmetry breaking with a Higgs boson decaying into two photons.
