V.A. Dolgushev, D.E. Tamarkin, B.L. Tsygan

TL;DR
This paper introduces formality theorems for Hochschild complexes, reviews recent developments, and demonstrates that the truncated Hochschild cochain complex of a polynomial algebra is non-formal.
Contribution
It provides an accessible overview of formality theorems and proves a new non-formality result for polynomial algebras.
Findings
The truncated Hochschild cochain complex of a polynomial algebra is non-formal.
The paper reviews recent results on Hochschild complexes and their applications.
Abstract
We give a popular introduction to formality theorems for Hochschild complexes and their applications. We review some of the recent results and prove that the truncated Hochschild cochain complex of a polynomial algebra is non-formal.
