Finite Temperature Phase Transition in $\phi^6$ potential
Hatem Widyan

TL;DR
This paper analytically examines the finite temperature phase transition in a scalar ^6 potential, revealing a first-order transition in the thin-wall limit and second-order in the thick-wall limit, across quantum and thermal regimes.
Contribution
It provides an analytical study of the temperature dependence of the action in ^6 potentials, characterizing the order of phase transitions in different wall regimes.
Findings
First-order phase transition in thin-wall limit.
Second-order phase transition in thick-wall limit.
Analytical expressions for action at finite temperature.
Abstract
The temperature dependance of the action in the thin-wall and thick-wall limits is obtained analytically for the scalar potential. The nature of the phase transition is investigated from the quantum tunnelling regime at low temperatures to the thermal hopping regime at high temperatures. It is first-order for the case of a thin wall while for the thick wall it is second- order.
