Charge and Spin Ordering in the Mixed Valence Compound LuFe2O4
A. B. Harris, T. Yildirim

TL;DR
This paper uses Landau theory and symmetry analysis to explain charge and spin ordering phenomena in LuFe2O4, highlighting the role of phonon-mediated interactions in the evolution of charge correlations.
Contribution
It provides a unified theoretical framework for charge and spin ordering in LuFe2O4, emphasizing phonon interactions, which was not previously detailed.
Findings
Charge and spin orderings are explained by symmetry considerations.
Phonon-mediated interactions influence charge ordering correlations.
A unified Landau theory approach is developed for LuFe2O4.
Abstract
Landau theory and symmetry considerations are invoked to give a unified treatment of charge and spin ordering in the mixed valence compound LuFe2O4. In particular, the unusual evolution of charge ordering correlations can be explained by invoking phonon mediated interactions.
