Consistency of regularization for scalar fields
Doug Pickrell

TL;DR
This paper examines the compatibility of regularization methods applied to the action and volume in two-dimensional scalar quantum field theory, ensuring consistent mathematical treatment of the fields.
Contribution
It analyzes the conditions under which regularizations of the action and volume are compatible in scalar quantum field theory.
Findings
Identifies conditions for regularization compatibility
Provides a framework for consistent regularization methods
Clarifies the mathematical structure of scalar fields
Abstract
In two dimensional constructive quantum field theory for scalar fields, it is necessary to regularize both the action and the total (Gaussian) volume. In this note we consider the compatibility of these regularizations.
