TL;DR
This paper investigates the decay modes of heavy bottom-like and top-like quarks ($b'$ and $t'$), especially below and above the $tW$ threshold, using convolution methods and comparing with PYTHIA simulations to guide searches at the LHC.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of $b'$ and $t'$ decay channels across mass thresholds, extending previous work and offering methods for broader search strategies at the LHC.
Findings
Decay channels below and above the $tW$ threshold are characterized.
Convolution method with five-body final states is developed and validated.
Comparison with PYTHIA shows consistency and guides experimental searches.
Abstract
Heavy is currently being searched for at the Tevatron, but a broader spectrum should be explored at the LHC. For , we discuss the two decay branches, and , below the threshold, and how they merge with above threshold. We use a convolution method with five body final state, and compare the production cross section with PYTHIA. This can be extended for a with mass heavier than . A similar discussion is given for decay, considering processes, besides the considered by CDF.
