Discussing string extensions of the Standard Model in D brane world
P. Di Vecchia

TL;DR
This paper explores how string theory, specifically magnetized D branes, can be used to extend the Standard Model, addressing challenges in connecting string theory with particle physics phenomenology.
Contribution
It presents an explicit example of a string extension of the Standard Model using magnetized D branes, highlighting a concrete approach to incorporate chiral matter.
Findings
Identification of problems in connecting string theory with phenomenology
Introduction of magnetized D branes for chiral matter
Description of a specific string extension model by Ibanez et al.
Abstract
In this talk we will describe the problems that one encounters when one tries to connect string theory with particle phenomenology. Then, in order to have chiral matter describing quarks and leptons, we introduce the magnetized D branes. Finally, as an explicit example of a string extension of the Standard Model, we will describe the one constructed by Ibanez, Marchesano and Rabadan.
