TL;DR
This paper investigates the static interactions of non-Abelian vortices in a U(N) gauge theory, revealing new regimes beyond traditional type I/II classifications in superconductors.
Contribution
It introduces a study of non-BPS non-Abelian vortex interactions in extended gauge models, identifying two novel interaction regimes, type I* and II*.
Findings
Identification of new interaction regimes: type I* and II*
Analysis of non-Abelian vortex interactions in extended models
Extension of superconductor classification to non-Abelian vortices
Abstract
Interactions between non-BPS non-Abelian vortices are studied in non-Abelian U(1) x SU(N) extensions of the Abelian-Higgs model in four dimensions. In addition to the usual type I/II Abelian superconductors, we find other two new regimes: type I*/II*.
