CP Violation in the Linear Sigma Model
Ana J\'ulia Mizher, Eduardo S. Fraga

TL;DR
This paper explores how CP violation and strong magnetic fields influence the chiral phase transition in the linear sigma model, revealing significant changes in the transition's nature and critical temperature.
Contribution
It introduces the effects of CP violation and magnetic fields into the linear sigma model, analyzing their impact on the chiral transition in heavy ion collisions.
Findings
CP violation and magnetic fields drastically alter the phase transition
The critical temperature is significantly affected by these factors
The nature of the chiral transition changes under combined CP violation and magnetic influence
Abstract
Motivated by the possibility of the formation of CP-odd domains in heavy ion collisions, we investigate the effects of CP violation on the chiral transition within the linear sigma model with two flavors of quarks. We also study how the CP-odd system is affected by the presence of a strong magnetic field, that is presumably generated in a non-central heavy ion collision. We find that both ingredients play an important role, influencing drastically the nature of the phase transition and the critical temperature.
