A Brief History of Dark Energy
C Sivaram (1) ((1) Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore)

TL;DR
This paper discusses the historical development of the Gurzadyan-Xue dark energy model, highlighting its early derivation and the connection to earlier work by the author on the Planck length as a cosmological constant.
Contribution
It reveals that the Gurzadyan-Xue dark energy formula was derived in 1986, predating the 2003 publication, and links it to the author's earlier research.
Findings
Gurzadyan-Xue dark energy formula was derived in 1986.
The 1986 work contains the formula later attributed to Gurzadyan-Xue.
Historical connection between early and later derivations of dark energy.
Abstract
Gurzadyan-Xue Dark Energy was derived in 1986 (twenty years before the paper of Gurzadyan-Xue). The paper by the present author, titled The Planck Length as a Cosmological Constant, published in Astrophysics Space Science, Vol. 127, p.133-137, 1986 contains the formula claimed to have been derived by Gurzadyan-Xue (in 2003).
