Underlying events in Herwig++
Manuel B\"ahr, Stefan Gieseke, Michael H. Seymour

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new MPI model in Herwig++, demonstrating that tuning two parameters effectively describes Tevatron data and providing extrapolations for LHC conditions compared to other models.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel MPI model implementation in Herwig++ with minimal parameter tuning for accurate underlying event descriptions.
Findings
Good description of CDF underlying event data
Extrapolations to LHC energies
Comparison with other models
Abstract
In this contribution we describe the new model of multiple partonic interactions (MPI) that has been implemented in Herwig++. Tuning its two free parameters is enough to find a good description of CDF underlying event data. We show extrapolations to the LHC and compare them to results from other models.
