Observation of single-diffractive W production with CMS: a feasibility study
A. Vilela Pereira (for the CMS Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper assesses the potential to observe single-diffractive W boson production in proton-proton collisions at 14 TeV using CMS, focusing on the feasibility with 100 pb$^{-1}$ luminosity.
Contribution
It provides a feasibility study for detecting single-diffractive W production at the LHC with CMS, highlighting experimental challenges and prospects.
Findings
Feasibility of observing single-diffractive W production at 14 TeV.
Analysis of detection strategies with 100 pb$^{-1}$ luminosity.
Potential for new insights into diffraction phenomena.
Abstract
We present a study of single-diffractive -boson production in collisions at TeV, with including a boson, with the CMS detector. We discuss the feasibility of observing this process with an integrated effective luminosity for single interactions of 100 pb.
