Michael Boshernitzan (Rice), David Damanik (Rice)

TL;DR
This paper investigates specific types of repetitions in symbolic flows over finite alphabets, providing initial results on their existence or absence in codings of interval exchange transformations and quadratic polynomials.
Contribution
It offers preliminary findings on the presence or absence of certain repetitions in symbolic flows related to interval exchange transformations and quadratic polynomial codings.
Findings
Positive results on repetitions in some codings
Negative results indicating absence of repetitions in others
Initial insights into symbolic flow repetitions
Abstract
We consider symbolic flows over finite alphabets and study certain kinds of repetitions in these sequences. Positive and negative results for the existence of such repetitions are given for codings of interval exchange transformations and codings of quadratic polynomials.
