N.V.Agudov, A.V.Krichigin

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that stochastic resonance can occur in overdamped monostable systems driven by combined periodic signals and Gaussian noise, showing a nonmonotonic SNR dependence similar to bistable systems.
Contribution
It reveals the presence of stochastic resonance in monostable overdamped systems, expanding the understanding of SR beyond bistable models.
Findings
SR appears as nonmonotonic SNR dependence on noise intensity
SR observed in monostable systems driven by additive noise and periodic signals
Similar SR behavior to bistable systems with potential barriers
Abstract
We show, the SR can appear in monostable overdamped systems driven by additive mix of periodical signal and white Gaussian noise. It can be observed as nonmonotonic dependence of SNR on the input noise intensity. In this sense it is similar to classical SR observed in overdamped bistable systems with potential barrier.
