Measurement of Semileptonic B Decays into Orbitally Excited Charmed Mesons
The BABAR Collaboration: B. Aubert, et al

TL;DR
This paper measures semileptonic B decay rates into orbitally excited charmed mesons D1 and D2* using data from the BaBar detector, providing precise branching fractions and decay ratios.
Contribution
It presents the first simultaneous fit to four decay chains to extract semileptonic branching fractions of B decays into D1 and D2* mesons with improved precision.
Findings
Measured product branching fractions for B decays into D1 and D2* states.
Determined the ratio of D2* decay widths to Dπ and D(*)π.
Provided detailed decay rate measurements with associated uncertainties.
Abstract
We present a study of B decays into semileptonic final states containing charged and neutral and . The analysis is based on a data sample of collected at the resonance with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy Factory at SLAC. With a simultaneous fit to four different decay chains, the semileptonic branching fractions are extracted from measurements of the mass difference distributions. Product branching fractions are determined to be , , and $BR(B^0 -> D_2^{*-} \ell^+ \nu_{\ell}) x…
