Y. Nagai, T. Masubuchi, S. Kim, W.-M. Yao

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for technicolor particles produced with W bosons in proton-antiproton collisions, using data from the CDF II detector, and sets exclusion limits on certain technicolor particle masses.
Contribution
It introduces a novel search strategy for technicolor particles in association with W bosons and establishes new exclusion limits on their mass parameters.
Findings
No evidence of technicolor particles was observed.
Set 95% confidence level exclusion regions on technicolor particle masses.
The analysis techniques effectively discriminate signal from background.
Abstract
We present a search for technicolor particles decaying into , or and produced in association with bosons in collisions at . The search uses approximately of the dataset accumulated in the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. We select events matching the + 2-jets signature and require at least one jets to be identified as -quark jets. In the case of exactly one vertex -tagged events, we apply a neural network flavor separator to reject contamination from charm and light quark jets. The number of tagged events and the invariant mass distributions of jets and dijets are consistent with the Standard Model expectations. We succeed to set a large 95% confidence level excluded region on the mass v.s. mass plane.
