Recent developments in photon-level operations on travelling light fields
M. S. Kim

TL;DR
This paper reviews recent advances in photon-level operations such as annihilation and creation in travelling light fields, highlighting their importance for quantum-state engineering and fundamental quantum physics research.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in photon-level operations on travelling light fields and their applications in quantum physics.
Findings
Photon annihilation and creation are key for quantum-state engineering.
Recent experimental techniques enable precise photon operations.
These operations deepen understanding of quantum physics principles.
Abstract
Annihilating and creating a photon in a travelling light field are useful building blocks for quantum-state engineering to generate a photonic state at will. In this paper, we review the relevance of these operations to some of the fundamental aspects of quantum physics and recent advances in this research.
