Search for B0 -> K*+ K*-
The BABAR Collaboration: B. Aubert, et al

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for the rare decay B0 -> K*+ K*- using a large data sample, setting an upper limit on its branching fraction, which constrains theoretical models of B meson decays.
Contribution
The study provides the first upper limit on the branching fraction of B0 -> K*+ K*- decay with a large data sample from BaBar, improving constraints on this decay mode.
Findings
Upper limit on Br(B0 -> K*+ K*-) < 2.0 x 10^{-6} at 90% CL
Sample size of 454 million BBbar pairs
No significant signal observed
Abstract
We report the results of a search for the decay B0 -> K*+ K*- with a sample of 454 +/- 5 million BBbar pairs collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. We obtain an upper limit at the 90% confidence level on the branching fraction for Br(B0 -> K*+ K*-) < 2.0 x 10^{-6}, assuming the decay is fully longitudinally polarized.
