The Gottfried sum rule in an unquenched quark model
R. Bijker, E. Santopinto

TL;DR
This paper introduces an unquenched quark model for baryons that explicitly incorporates quark-antiquark pairs, providing insights into the flavor asymmetry of the nucleon sea and the Gottfried sum rule.
Contribution
It presents a novel unquenched quark model explicitly including light quark-antiquark pairs to study baryon properties and flavor asymmetries.
Findings
Explicit inclusion of quark-antiquark pairs affects baryon structure
Model explains flavor asymmetry in the nucleon sea
Provides a new approach to the Gottfried sum rule
Abstract
We present an unquenched quark model for baryons in which the effects of quark-antiquark pairs (light flavors, u, d and s) are taken into account in an explicit form. The method is illustrated with an application to the flavor asymmetry of the nucleon sea.
