Extended MQCD and SUSY/non-SUSY duality
Kazutoshi Ohta, Ta-Sheng Tai

TL;DR
This paper explores the SUSY/non-SUSY duality using brane configurations in string theory, extending Seiberg-Witten theory and illustrating partial supersymmetry breaking.
Contribution
It generalizes extended Seiberg-Witten theory and offers a brane-based realization of non-SUSY vacua and partial SUSY breaking from al=2 to al=1.
Findings
Brane configurations realize non-SUSY vacua.
Visualization of partial SUSY breaking.
Extension of Seiberg-Witten theory.
Abstract
We study the SUSY/non-SUSY duality proposed by Aganagic et al. from Type IIA string and M-theory perspectives. We find that our brane configuration generalizes the so-called Seiberg-Witten theory on the one hand, and provides a way to realize non-SUSY vacua by intersecting NS5-branes on the other hand. We also argue how the partial SUSY breaking from down to can be clearly visualized through the brane picture.
