An N=1 Superfield Action for M2 branes
Andrea Mauri, Anastasios C. Petkou

TL;DR
This paper introduces an octonionic N=1 superfield action that models M2 branes and, through scalar expectation values, derives the D2 brane action, connecting two key M-theory objects.
Contribution
It provides a novel superfield formulation for M2 branes using octonionic structures, extending the theoretical framework of brane actions.
Findings
Superfield action reproduces Bagger-Lambert M2 brane action
Scalar expectation value yields D2 brane superfield action
Connects M2 and D2 branes within a unified superfield framework
Abstract
We present an octonionic N=1 superfield action that reproduces in components the action of Bagger and Lambert for M2 branes. By giving an expectation value to one of the scalars we obtain the maximally supersymmetric superfield action for D2 branes.
