Dirac structures, nonholonomic systems and reduction
Madeleine Jotz, Tudor Ratiu

TL;DR
This paper introduces a Dirac reduction framework for nonholonomic systems, providing an optimal reduction method and detailed examples to enhance understanding of the reduction process.
Contribution
It presents a novel Dirac reduction approach for nonholonomic systems and formulates an optimal reduction method for a specific class of these systems.
Findings
Developed a Dirac reduction framework for nonholonomic systems
Formulated an optimal reduction method for certain nonholonomic systems
Provided detailed examples illustrating the reduction process
Abstract
The reduction of nonholonomic systems is formulated in terms of Dirac reduction. An optimal reduction method for a class of nonholonomic systems is formulated. Several examples are studied in detail.
