Universal conductivity and central charges
Pavel Kovtun, Adam Ritz

TL;DR
This paper explores how in certain critical models across multiple dimensions, electrical conductivity and charge susceptibility are universally determined by the central charge, with implications for bounds suggested by holographic duality.
Contribution
It identifies a universal relationship between conductivity, charge susceptibility, and central charge in higher-dimensional critical models, and discusses holographic bounds.
Findings
Conductivity and charge susceptibility are fixed by the central charge.
Possible bounds on conductivity are discussed in the context of holography.
Universal behavior extends to models in dimensions greater than 1+1.
Abstract
We discuss a class of critical models in d>1+1 dimensions whose electrical conductivity and charge susceptibility are fixed by the central charge in a universal manner. We comment on possible bounds on conductivity, as suggested by holographic duality.
