Affine interval exchange maps with a wandering interval
Stefano Marmi, Pierre Moussa, Jean-Christophe Yoccoz

TL;DR
This paper constructs affine interval exchange maps with wandering intervals that are semi-conjugate to typical interval exchange maps of higher genus, revealing new dynamical behaviors.
Contribution
It introduces a method to produce affine interval exchange maps with wandering intervals, extending understanding of their dynamics compared to classical maps.
Findings
Existence of affine IETs with wandering intervals for generic maps
Semi-conjugacy between affine IETs and standard IETs
New examples of complex dynamical behavior in interval maps
Abstract
For almost all interval exchange maps T_0, with combinatorics of genus g>=2, we construct affine interval exchange maps T which are semi-conjugate to T_0 and have a wandering interval.
