Meson-baryon threshold effects in the light-quark baryon spectrum
P. Gonzalez, J. Vijande, A. Valcarce

TL;DR
This paper suggests that specific S wave meson-baryon channels are crucial for aligning quark model predictions with experimental baryon spectra, proposing a method to improve resonance identification.
Contribution
It introduces a new approach to incorporate meson-baryon threshold effects into baryon spectrum analysis, enhancing resonance extraction from data.
Findings
Selected S wave channels influence baryon mass predictions
A new prescription improves resonance identification
Potential to reconcile quark models with experimental data
Abstract
We argue that selected wave meson-baryon channels may play a key role to match poor baryon mass predictions from quark models with data. The identification of these channels with effective inelastic channels in data analysis allows to derive a prescription which could improve the extraction and identification of baryon resonances.
