Measurement of the Open Charm Cross-Section in 200 GeV Heavy-Ion Collisions at STAR
Stephen Baumgart (for the STAR Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports measurements of open charm production in 200 GeV heavy-ion collisions at STAR, comparing results with pQCD predictions and exploring medium effects through $R_{AA}$ analysis.
Contribution
First measurement of open charm cross-section in heavy-ion collisions at RHIC using multiple decay channels, providing insights into medium effects.
Findings
Open charm production consistent with pQCD predictions.
Evidence of medium-induced energy loss from $R_{AA}$ analysis.
Quantitative cross-section measurements for open charm.
Abstract
We report on measurements of open charm production through both hadronic and semi-leptonic decay channels in = 200 GeV heavy ion collision at the STAR experiment at RHIC. We compare experimental results to theoretical predictions from pQCD. The open charm is also presented as evidence of possible medium-induced energy loss.
