Towards the assignment for the $4 ^1S_0$ meson nonet
De-Min Li, Shan Zhou

TL;DR
This paper investigates the strong decays of certain mesons to identify the $4 ^1S_0$ meson nonet, proposing specific assignments and predicting properties of an unobserved kaon within this nonet.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of meson decays using the $^3P_0$ model, supporting specific meson assignments and predicting the mass and width of an unobserved $4 ^1S_0$ kaon.
Findings
$ ext{pi}(2070)$, $ ext{eta}(2100)$, and $ ext{eta}(2225)$ are likely $4 ^1S_0$ $qar{q}$ states.
The unobserved $4 ^1S_0$ kaon is predicted to have a mass of about 2153 MeV.
The width of the $4 ^1S_0$ kaon is estimated to be approximately 197 MeV.
Abstract
The strong decays of the , , , , and as the quark-antiquark states are investigated in the framework of the meson decay model. It is found that the , , and appear to be the convincing states while the assignment of the and as the isoscalar states is not favored by their widths. In the presence of the , , and being the members of the meson nonet, the kaon is phenomenologically determined to has a mass of about 2153 MeV. The width of this unobserved kaon is expected to be about 197 MeV in the decay model.
