A Coding of Real Null Four-Momenta into World-Sheet Co-ordinates
David B. Fairlie

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that the action minimization for string-like systems naturally encodes real null four-momenta into world-sheet coordinates, unifying different approaches to the problem.
Contribution
It establishes a consistent method to encode null four-momenta into world-sheet coordinates through action minimization in string-like systems.
Findings
Null four-momenta are encoded into world-sheet coordinates.
Multiple approaches to the problem yield consistent results.
The method provides a new perspective on string world-sheet parametrization.
Abstract
The results of minimizing the action for string-like systems on a simply-connected world sheet are shown to encode the Cartesian components of real null momentum four-vectors into co-ordinates on the world sheet. This identification arises consistently from different approaches to the problem.
