Solar Convection Simulations using a B-spline method
Thomas Hartlep, Nagi N. Mansour

TL;DR
This paper presents a novel B-spline spectral numerical code designed for simulating solar convection flows, enabling variable spatial resolution in all three dimensions to improve simulation accuracy.
Contribution
The development of a flexible B-spline spectral code that adapts spatial resolution in all directions for enhanced solar convection modeling.
Findings
Allows variable spatial resolution in all three coordinates
Improves accuracy of solar convection simulations
Provides a new tool for astrophysical fluid dynamics
Abstract
This report outlines the development of a B-spline--spectral numerical code for the simulation of convection flows. It allows changing the spatial resolution in all three coordinates as a function of depth, which is especially advantageous for simulations of solar convection.
